Whether you're a beginning, intermediate, or advanced writer, Antioch Writers' Workshop programs offer the tools and inspiration you need to take the next steps on your writing path. We offer instruction in the creative writing craft and in the professional skills creative writers need to succeed in the publishing world, as well as opportunities for connecting to a vibrant, supportive creative writing community.

In 2012, Antioch Writers' Workshop programs include:

►"Genre Saturday," a one-day fiction writing workshop focusing on the genres of romance, mystery and science fiction/fantasy/horror. Held on Saturday March 31, 2012, 8:15 a.m.-6:00 p.m., at Antioch University Midwest, Yellow Springs, Ohio. See our "Spring 2012 Genre Saturday" tab for more details.

►27th Annual Summer Workshop--our flagship event held each summer! Full week and "A La Carte" programs abound to fit any schedule, with opportunities to learn from top notch faculty and publishing professionals from around the United States. This year, the summer workshop is Saturday July 7-Friday July 13, 2012, at Antioch University Midwest, Yellow Springs, Ohio, and includes a keynote and creative writing master class led by John Grogan, best-selling author of the memoirs Marley & Me and The Longest Trip Home. ►Ongoing "Second Sunday Free Writers' Workshop." These one-and-a-half hour seminars are held the second Sunday of most months (with the exception of June-August and December), 2:00-3:30 p.m., at Books & Co. at The Greene, Beavercreek, Ohio. They cover a variety of creative writing topics as well as provide a sample of our other programs. See our "Second Sunday Free Writers' Workshop" tab for more details. Coming up: Published authors Kristina McBride (The Tension of Opposites) and Katrina Kittle (Reasons to be Happy) will lead a session on "How To Write For Middle Grade/Young Adult Readers."

The AWW fosters the art and craft of creative writing by supporting writers at all levels through mentorship, community, and inspiration. In support of our mission, we commit to the following goals:
• Create an open and welcoming writing environment through a variety of in-person programs.
• Provide instruction and professional development opportunities geared to a broad range of experience levels.
• Provide opportunities for face-to-face engagement with professional writers, editors, and agents.
• Introduce the work of local and national writers to the greater Miami Valley, Ohio community through open-to-the public readings and similar events.
• Help build the next generation of writers through programming specifically geared to younger writers.
• Provide these opportunities in the Village of Yellow Springs and the greater Miami Valley, Ohio area.
